Dear Mr. Miner,
I am writing to wish you luck in your game tonight versus the Minnesota Twins.
Though you have had some problems in your last two outings, and even when you were winning, you gave up more hits than made me comfortable, I have every confidence in you that you will go out there tonight and pitch the game of your life.
If the Tigers win tonight, it will raise every eyebrow that is still low, and the Tigers will finally be the team to beat in the American League, if not all of baseball. If you put out a quality start, which the Tigers have been aching for as of late (minus a few here and there), it may not be enough to win, but it will be acceptable to all the fans.
Win or Lose, we are behind you, and when Mike Maroth comes back, you will certainly still be on the team. You have brought us a long way this season in his absence, and if you pitch well these next two weeks, you will be rewarded.
Thank you for your time, and give 'em hell tonight.
Sincerely,
Chris Gehringer
